Ironically, Rockpointe Church in Flower Mound, Texas, was between a rock and a hard place. Their church was quickly outgrowing their existing sanctuary and the A/V/L systems were in poor condition. They wanted a way to increase seating immediately, upgrade the A/V/L systems, and prepare to move into a new sanctuary without wasting money on systems that could not be transferred to the new building.
Electro Acoustics had been recommended to provide service on the existing system and was able to make some immediate improvements. Because of these improvements, the church then hired Electro Acoustics to develop a transition plan.
The existing Avid console was moved upstairs to create more seating on the main floor and a new Meyer line array speaker system was installed, knowing it could easily be expanded for the new sanctuary. Panasonic pro video equipment and a Strand lighting board were purchased and the existing system quality was substantially improved. This also provided the system operators an opportunity to learn the new equipment.
Electro Acoustics then designed the A/V/L systems for the new sanctuary using the existing equipment and the transition to the new facility was seamless! The new church was designed by Dallas architectural firm Oglesby Green. The room acoustics were excellent for both speech and contemporary music thanks to Bill Johnson of Dallas based Acoustic Design Associates.
