Enlightenment!
St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gainesville, Texas celebrates 94 years in their “new” building this September. The parish is 125 years old, the second oldest parish in the Ft. Worth diocese. The church was known for its priceless stained glass windows from Germany and Stations of the Cross from England. The church hired Conrad Schmitt Studios in Milwaukee to design new interiors to accent the extraordinary windows and Stations of the Cross. The new interior and Stations needed a bit of “enlightenment” to inspire worshipers.
Electro Acoustics was engaged to design and install a new sound and lighting system. K-Array KK-102 line-array speakers were selected because of their exceptional size to performance ratio. The speakers are nearly impossible see but provide crystal clear speech to every seat.
The Altman LED lighting system controlled by a Philips/Strand dimmer system will not only save the parish a great deal of money in energy costs, it also illuminates the priceless antique Stations and statues.
Doug Viere, CTS was the project engineer and Luke Jordan CTS-I was the project lead for Electro Acoustics.
