Frogs jump on latest video technology

Let’s Take a Leap into the Pond with the Frogs: A Preview into the Technologies at the Newly Renovated Schollmaier Arena at TCU

We have already shown you a snippet into TCU’s commitment to its basketball programs and fan experience by sharing posts about the seating bowl audio system & the new video wall in the Courtside Club  which were part of the recent $80 million renovation of the newly renamed Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena. There is still more to share about this awesome new facility that is a contender for one of the most outstanding basketball arenas in the Big 12!

While walking around the concourse on game day you can be sure to find excitement in every corner! From pictures with various scenes around the TCU campus and student athletes, the TCU Hall of Fame decked out with lights and uniforms from every athletic sport, and TVs every few feet that you venture, it is apparent that TCU Athletics wanted AV technology to be a very big part of the fan experience.

Electro Acoustics installed over 100 TVs throughout the facility and the majority are used as a digital signage system. Several TVs promote the teams that are playing in the arena, advertise upcoming events, serve as sponsorship advertisements, and others serve as menu boards for ticketing and advertisements for the food located throughout the concourse. These televisions keep the fans engaged and connected from the moment they walk in the door to the second they leave.

The video systems in Schollmaier are not only important to the fan experience, but also for the coaches and student athletes. You will also find televisions and projectors in the theater style team rooms, locker rooms, recruiting lounge, TCU athletic offices, and the meeting rooms. These can be used for game review, recruiting, entertaining VIP guests, and conducting meetings.
