Let’s Take a Leap into the Pond with the Frogs: A Preview into the Technologies at the Newly Renovated Schollmaier Arena at TCU

Schollmaier Arena’s Seating Bowl

TCU has shown a great commitment to its basketball programs and has updated its basketball arena with an $80 million renovation to provide the ultimate college basketball game experience to anyone that enters the facility. The newly renovated Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena is a contender for one of the most outstanding basketball arenas in the Big 12! Any fan, student athlete, coach, or prospective student would be totally amazed with this arena!

A high energy game, exciting music, lively performances by the dance team and cheerleaders, the bands battling it out, and gleaming lights all make up for an exciting fan experience at the newly renovated Schollmaier Arena. Electro Acoustics is proud to be a part of the entertainment by providing the Electro Voice Line arrays in the seating bowl which provide improved speech clarity and high energy music to all 8,500 seats in the house. Speaker Line Array technology is a substantial “leap forward” in professional speaker design and just one of the many state of the art technologies in the new facility. When at the game you are totally surrounded with an energy that is bound to excite any fan or athlete!

Since the seating bowl is where all the game action is, Electro Acoustics installed broadcast cabling and fiber optics throughout the facility to make it possible to bring you the games live on major television networks. This makes it easy for major networks to come to the game, plug in, and bring the live action into the living rooms of thousands of fans watching the games from home!

Stay tuned for more insight into the AV technologies at Schollmaier Arena!

Preston Myers, CTS-I and Peter Herb were the project leads and Steve Burge, CTS-D was the system designer for Electro Acoustics on this project. John Milller from Technical Design Group was the consultant for TCU on this project.
