Kimbell Art Museum Main Auditorium

The Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth called on Electro Acoustics to develop a solution so they could project high definition movies in the main auditorium. We have worked with the Kimbell several times before and they continually trust us with the design and installation in this architecturally sensitive room. The architecture, designed by Louis Kahn, is art in itself, and the video system could not distract from his design or impede the space.

Electro Acoustics designers developed a “Floating Screen Concept,” and concealed the cinema quality sound system in merely eight inches of depth using custom-designed speakers from Bag End Systems. The virtually invisible system works equally well for both speech and music.

The Kimbell has been very pleased with their new “Floating Screen” and subsequently asked Electro Acoustics to install the audio/visual systems in the new Piano Pavilion.
