The Parker County Courthouse was built in 1885 in Weatherford, Texas, and has recently undergone restoration to bring it back to its original glory. The Texas Historical Society needed to be sure that the room maintained its original look – meaning no visible technology. Fort Worth architect, Fred Cauble, contacted Electro Acoustics to develop solutions for this tricky problem. After examining the historical documents, we noticed there were multiple entries noting poor acoustics, all of which lead to our partnership with Acoustic Design Associates of Dallas.
We treated the entire ceiling with a fiberglass product and covered it with a European fabric that was custom dyed to replicate the original ceiling. The speakers were concealed behind the fabric, and a state-of-the-art audiovisual system was designed to integrate seamlessly into the architecture. Electro Acoustics delivered an effective system while maintaining the historical integrity of such an important Parker County landmark.
