Rangers Spice Up the Fan Experience
Globe Life Park, home of the Texas Rangers, has a newly renovated club space named the Cholula Hot Sauce Porch. The porch services the All You Can Eat seats and also serves as a non-game event space for other events such as proms, fundraisers, and presentations.
The new renovation included a full audiovisual upgrade by Electro Acoustics. Several TVs were placed around the club and behind the bar to provide space for viewing the game, as well as marketing and advertising from sponsors. A Crestron control system was installed to automate the control of all the TVs, as well as the sound. JBL ceiling speakers were used to evenly provide game audio and background music as needed. The system also has several input locations for a presenter to show their own content, making the space flexible for a wide range of uses, not just America’s pastime.
When asked about the system Pedro Soto, the A/V Production Coordinator for the ballpark, said, “I love being able to set up the system from my office and know that it’s going to work. Not having to run all over the stadium is a huge benefit.” The fan experience was a major factor in the design of the Cholula Hot Sauce Porch. When asked about the new fan experience Soto stated, “using the digital signage for sponsorship keeps the club area looking clean. Being able to have the game on all around you keeps the fans engaged at all times.”
